MIENGINEERS COMMITS ITSELF TO INCLUSION
MIEngineers believes in the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility, and in line with this we are proud to engage in several programs with community organisations which allow us to support our local social environment.
2017 marked our second year of participation in The Centre for Disability Studies, “uni 2 beyond” internship pilot program, which offers students with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to gain working experience in the corporate environment.
“By engaging in the internship program, organisations provide uni 2 beyond students with an invaluable opportunity to gain real world experience in the workplace. As a result of the internship, the confidence and independence of students increases, and we can see how this leads to meaningful employment in the long run.”
– Professor Patricia O’Brien, Director, Centre for Disability Studies
This year, we were pleased to welcome Tahli Hind as our Uni 2 Beyond intern. Tahli joined us in the beginning of November 2017 for a six-week paid internship, working 2 days a week and shared her time between MIEngineers and our sister company Benchmark Estimating Software.
During this time, Tahli contributed to a wide range of tasks around the business, including data entry, market research, event management, and general office administration. Tahli performed extremely well in all duties,
providing significant and valuable support for our team. Her excellent
performance, as well as her warm and engaging personality, has left a
lasting impression on our business.
“Tahli has been a great member of our team for the six weeks she was at the
MIEngineers office. Not only was it a good experience for Tahli but for all of our
team in Redfern. Tahli helped organising our end of year activities efficiently
and successfully and contributed a lot to our office.”
– Amy-Ruth MacDonald, CEO, MIEngineers
MIEngineers looks forward to continuing our support of the uni 2 beyond initiative, as well as other community initiatives, in 2018.
