Moruya Regional Equine Centre

Moruya, NSW
Total Project Value:
$5 million

Eurobodalla Shire Council sought to build on existing research and activities to develop a new equine facility to be located at the Moruya racecourse site. It was envisaged that the new facility would create a unique equine precinct covering performance horse events and horse racing, with high quality facilities, including camping areas, and would include an overall upgrade at the site which would also benefit racing activities.

MIEngineers was engaged to prepare a Business Plan Model and Concept Master Plan including site and road layout, stormwater, water supply, sewerage and electrical services. Works included feasibility investigations in order to determine projected usage of the new facility, development of a business plan and management model, and assessment of the benefit to the regional economy.

Subsequent to community consultation and site assessment, MIEngineers also developed a Master Plan which provided a cost efficient yet practical design that satisfied the needs of the equine disciplines intended for use at the proposed centre.
